SPECSHIELD WB is a 100% reactive, waterborne silanesiloxane sealer. This clear, penetrating, breathable water
repellent is designed for use on interior and exterior
above grade concrete or masonry surfaces. SPECSHIELD
WB penetrates the surface and bonds directly with the
substrate, which results in a surface that is highly resistant to both moisture and salt.
SPECSHIELD WB helps protect concrete and masonry surfaces, decks, pavements, parking structures, ramps,
bridges, marine platforms etc. against the corrosive effects of de-icing salts, moisture and weathering to prevent spalling and deterioration of concrete structures.
V.O.C. compliant.
Features and Benefits:
- Provides excellent chloride screen
- Excellent water repellency while maintaining breathability
- V.O.C compliant - water-based
- Reduces the effects of freeze-thaw cycling and weathering on concrete structures
- Long-lasting protections for new as well as old concrete surfaces
- Dries tack-free and skid resistant
- Colorless and non-yellowing
Application:
EQUIPMENT: Roller, brush, or low pressure sprayer
COVERAGE RATE:
Average rate is determined by surface porosity:
Porous surfaces: 100-125 ft2/gal
Broom finish: 100-150 ft2/gal
Smooth concrete: 150-200 ft2/gal
NEW CONCRETE: Surface should be well cured (28 day minimum) using water, wet burlap, polyethylene curing paper, or dissipating resin based curing compound. Surface must be free of all curing residue, dust, debris, oil and other contaminates to allow penetration. Substrates
must be absorptive to allow penetration of the SPECSHILED WB. All joint sealant, caulks and patching should be in place before applying.
HORIZONTAL SURFACES: Flood surfaces using a low pressure sprayer (airless sprayer 10 to 20 psi), roller, brush or broom. Broom or squeegee around for even distribution. On porous surfaces, let the surface absorb the SPECSHIELD WB and follow-up immediately with a second application before the surface dries; wet-on wet method. Redistribute any puddles or free standing material.
OLD CONCRETE AND MASONRY: Remove any previously applied sealers, dust, dirt, tar, oil, etc. with pressure wash and SpecChem Citrus Cleaner or use other appropriate measures to properly prepare the substrate. Membranes of any kind must be removed. Substrates must be
